To clean a Nespresso Vertuo machine, follow these steps:
- Remove and clean the water tank, capsule container, and drip tray with warm soapy water, then rinse and let them air dry.
- Rinse the water tank and refill it with fresh drinking water.
- Make sure there is no capsule inside the machine, close the lid, and lock it.
- Place a 1-liter container under the coffee outlet.
- Press the coffee button three times within two seconds to start the cleaning cycle. The machine will run water through the system automatically for about 7 minutes.
- After cleaning, discard the water in the container.
- For descaling (recommended every three months or every 300 pods), fill the water tank with Nespresso descaling solution mixed with water, follow the descaling mode instructions which can be activated by button and lever presses, and run the full descaling cycle.
- After descaling, run two cycles with only water to rinse residual descaling solution.
Avoid using strong or abrasive cleaning agents on the machine. Regular cleaning keeps the coffee tasting good and extends machine life.
