To cure vampirism in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, there are two main scenarios depending on how long you have had the disease Porphyric Hemophilia:
If Less Than 72 In-Game Hours Have Passed
You can cure vampirism easily by removing the disease before it fully develops:
- Drink a Cure Disease potion.
- Cast a Cure Disease spell.
- Eat food with a Cure Disease effect (e.g., Mandrake Root or Shepherd's Pie).
- Pray at a Wayshrine, Chapel, or Temple.
If you do this within three in-game days of contracting the disease, you will stop the transformation and never become a vampire
If More Than 72 In-Game Hours Have Passed (Full Vampire)
Once you have fully turned into a vampire, curing vampirism requires one of two methods:
1. Visit the Font of Renewal in Deepscorn Hollow
- This is the easiest method.
- Using the Font of Renewal cures vampirism instantly.
- This option is available in the base game of Oblivion Remastered (added in the remake).
- Note: Using this method locks you out of the "Vampire Cure" quest.
- Once cured, you cannot become a vampire again in that playthrough
2. Complete the "Vampire Cure" Quest
- Start by speaking with Raminus Polus at the Arcane University in the Imperial City.
- He will direct you to Count Janus Hassildor in Castle Skingrad.
- The Count will tell you about Melisande, a witch who can cure vampirism.
- You must collect five empty Grand Soul Gems and bring them to Melisande.
- Melisande will give you a recipe for a Cure Vampirism potion.
- After completing the quest, your vampirism will be cured.
- Note: Once cured through this quest, you cannot become a vampire again unless you contract the disease anew
Additional Notes
- Once cured by either method, you are permanently immune to becoming a vampire again in that playthrough.
- You can check if you have vampirism by looking at your active effects in the Character or Magic menu.
- There are also console commands to instantly cure vampirism if you prefer a cheat method
In summary, curing vampirism early is simple with disease cures or prayers. If you have become a full vampire, you must either use the Font of Renewal or complete the Vampire Cure quest involving Raminus Polus, Count Hassildor, and Melisande
