To know if Secure Boot is enabled, the easiest way on a Windows PC is to check in the System Information tool:
- Press Windows Key + R to open the Run dialog.
- Type msinfo32 and press Enter.
- In the System Information window, click on "System Summary" on the left.
- Scroll down and find the "Secure Boot State" entry.
- If it says "On," Secure Boot is enabled. If it says "Off," Secure Boot is disabled.
Alternatively, you can check Secure Boot status using PowerShell:
- Open PowerShell as Administrator.
- Run the command: Confirm-SecureBootUEFI
- If it returns True, Secure Boot is enabled; if False, it is disabled.
You can also check this directly in your computer's UEFI/BIOS settings during startup, usually by pressing a key like Delete, F2, or Esc to enter BIOS, then navigating to the Boot or Security section where Secure Boot status is shown. These methods work for Windows 10 and 11, and most modern PCs with UEFI firmware support Secure Boot.
