Perfumer is a character in the game Identity V, who is a famous perfumer from Grasse. She created a perfume called Euphoria after receiving inspiration from a mysterious perfume recipe. In the game, the Perfumer is very sensitive and doesnt like the smell of medical equipment, and her healing time is increased by 15%.

Regarding the ingredients or materials used in perfumes, fragrances are made up of strong-smelling organic compounds that have characteristic, pleasant odors. There are thousands of registered fragrance ingredients made from five classes of compounds, including alcohols, aldehydes, ketones, esters, and lactones. Synthetic fragrance ingredients can either be nature-identical or artificial. Natural-identical synthetic fragrances are made from synthetically derived ingredients to have the same chemical composition as a fragrance found in nature, while artificial fragrances are made from synthetic ingredients and have a scent and/or chemical composition not known to be found in nature.

The perfume industry is racing to produce replacements for many of the ingredients that are being regulated out of existence. By volume, perfumes today are mostly synthetic chemicals that tend to be cheaper and more manipulable than natural materials. Perfumers can use a single chemical or group of chemicals to create an "accord," an impression of a smell in nature. However, natural extracts are still crucial because of their richness, as each contains tens to hundreds of different molecules, adding an olfactory fullness that no synthetic can match.

There is also a list of perfumery materials that must not form part of fragrance compounds used in cosmetic products, as determined by the International Fragrance Association (IFRA) and the Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety (SCCS). The list includes substances that are prohibited or should not be used as a fragrance ingredient due to their sensitizing potential.
