Mexico is geographically and politically considered part of North America. Although it shares cultural and historical ties with Central America, Mexico is the northernmost country in Latin America and borders the United States to the north. Central America is a subregion of North America, located south of Mexico, comprising seven countries: Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama. Mexico is not part of Central America, but due to its shared history and culture, it is sometimes thought to be close to it culturally. Mexico has a strong geopolitical and economic connection with the United States and Canada through agreements like USMCA, reinforcing its position in North America.
