  • Itraconazole has a molecular formula of C35H38Cl2N8O4 and a molecular weight of 705.64. It is a white to slightly yellowish powder. It is insoluble in water, very slightly soluble in alcohols, and freely soluble in dichloromethane.

Positive:

  • Itraconazole exhibits in vitro activity against Blastomyces dermatitidis, Histoplasma capsulatum, Histoplasma duboisii, Aspergillus flavus, Aspergillus.

Negative:

  • Itraconazole may cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, and dizziness.
  • It may also interact with other medications, including antacids, stomach medicine, and certain soft drinks.
