The Prudential Center is a multipurpose indoor arena located in Newark, New Jersey. It opened in 2007 and is primarily known as the home arena for the New Jersey Devils of the NHL, the New York Sirens of the Professional Women's Hockey League, and the men's basketball program of Seton Hall University. The arena is also a top venue for concerts and other events, ranking among the top five concert venues worldwide by earnings as of 2023. It features extensive amenities including luxury suites, a large scoreboard, and a practice rink attached to the building. The arena is easily accessible, situated near Newark Penn Station, and surrounded by dining and entertainment options. It is owned by the Newark Housing Authority and operated by Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment. The nickname for the venue is "The Rock," inspired by Prudential Financial's corporate logo, which owns the arena's naming rights.
There is also another Prudential Center in Boston, which is a major shopping destination with over 60 shops and restaurants, located in the Back Bay area, but the name is more famously associated with the Newark arena.
