Here are three types of alerts mentioned across the articles, with their benefits described in my own words:
- Author Alerts: These alerts notify you when new publications from specific authors important to your research are added to databases. They help you stay updated on the latest work by key researchers without manual searching.
- Cited Reference Alerts: These notify you when a particular article or publication is cited by new articles. This helps track the impact and influence of important works and keeps you aware of emerging related research.
- Search Alerts: By saving a specific successful search statement in a database, you automatically receive notifications when new articles matching your criteria are published. This keeps you informed about new research or topics you are following without re-running searches.
These alerts provide timely updates, saving effort and ensuring you don’t miss important new information relevant to your interests or research.
