UD Parking Services provides parking permits for students, faculty, staff, and visitors who park on campus. The permits are required and have a fee associated with them. The permits are virtual and use the license plate of the vehicle as the parking credential. The license plate of the vehicle must be clearly visible and face the drive lane. Passport spaces and hourly parking in pay-to-park lots will require payment. Parking garages, gate lots, and reserved spaces will be normal operation based on the signs posted at each location.
UD Parking Services also requires that all bicycles parked on campus should be registered with the University. When registering, the bicycle serial number, make, model, and color should be available, and photos can be attached. For help finding the serial number on the bicycle, see this diagram.
UD Parking Services has general regulations in place to ensure an orderly system for all who use vehicles when coming to campus. The regulations also ensure that university parking regulations apply to the registrant of a permit and the operator of a vehicle on the University campus. The person to whom the permit or vehicle is registered is responsible for any parking violation(s) whether he or she is operating the vehicle or the vehicle is being used by another person. The University reserves the right to limit space in campus parking lots as needed. Permit holders will be directed to alternative parking areas. In non-emergency situations, the University will provide notice via electronic means.
