Goodwill accepts a wide range of items that are new or gently used and in good condition. Here is a list of items that Goodwill can accept:

  • Clothing, shoes, and boots
  • Jewelry
  • Hats, gloves, mittens, and scarves
  • Books
  • Domestics: linens, curtains, blankets, etc.
  • Electronics including but not limited to: CPUs, flat-screen monitors (no CRTs), hard drives, laptops, cell phones, VCRs, DVD players, TVs working flat screen (no CRTs)
  • Appliances, small: irons, vacuum cleaners, coffee makers, radios, etc.
  • Area rugs
  • Bicycles
  • Computers, printers, and accessories
  • Tools, lawn and garden
  • Toys
  • Vehicles in all conditions

Goodwill cannot accept certain items due to legal or liability risks, safety or hazardous/universal waste concerns, recycling and/or disposal fees, or if they are not in clean or saleable condition. Here is a list of items that Goodwill cannot accept:

  • Air conditioners or other freon-containing appliances
  • Ammunition or weapons including BB guns, pellet guns, and arrows
  • Appliances, large: stoves, ovens, refrigerators, dishwashers, etc.
  • Automobile parts
  • Baby equipment
  • Bed frames
  • Chairs, stools, or couches
  • Desks or other office furniture
  • Dressers, bookcases, entertainment centers, or other large furniture
  • Mattresses and bed frames
  • Tables of any kind

Its important to note that Goodwill employees may decline a donation if it is not in clean or saleable condition or if they are unable to assist with larger items due to the risk of injury.
