Goodwill accepts a wide range of items that are new or gently used and in good condition. Here is a list of items that Goodwill can accept:
- Clothing, shoes, and boots
- Jewelry
- Hats, gloves, mittens, and scarves
- Books
- Domestics: linens, curtains, blankets, etc.
- Electronics including but not limited to: CPUs, flat-screen monitors (no CRTs), hard drives, laptops, cell phones, VCRs, DVD players, TVs working flat screen (no CRTs)
- Appliances, small: irons, vacuum cleaners, coffee makers, radios, etc.
- Area rugs
- Bicycles
- Computers, printers, and accessories
- Tools, lawn and garden
- Toys
- Vehicles in all conditions
Goodwill cannot accept certain items due to legal or liability risks, safety or hazardous/universal waste concerns, recycling and/or disposal fees, or if they are not in clean or saleable condition. Here is a list of items that Goodwill cannot accept:
- Air conditioners or other freon-containing appliances
- Ammunition or weapons including BB guns, pellet guns, and arrows
- Appliances, large: stoves, ovens, refrigerators, dishwashers, etc.
- Automobile parts
- Baby equipment
- Bed frames
- Chairs, stools, or couches
- Desks or other office furniture
- Dressers, bookcases, entertainment centers, or other large furniture
- Mattresses and bed frames
- Tables of any kind
Its important to note that Goodwill employees may decline a donation if it is not in clean or saleable condition or if they are unable to assist with larger items due to the risk of injury.
