Sally from Cars is a fictional character in Pixars Cars franchise. She is a 2002 Porsche 911 Carrera whose personality is modeled after Dawn Welch, the proprietor of Rock Cafe in Oklahoma. Sally is the town attorney for Radiator Springs, having relocated there from California where she was a successful lawyer. She is the love interest of Piston Cup racer Lightning McQueen, whom she first meets when he is sentenced to community service after destroying Radiator Springs main road. Sally appears again in Cars 2 and Cars 3 as a supporting character.
In real life, Porsche has built a one-of-a-kind Porsche 911 designed in collaboration with Pixar as a tribute to Sally Carrera. The car is called the "Sally Special" and is based on the 911 Carrera GTS rear-engined sports car. It includes a seven-speed manual transmission and is powered by a 473-hp engine. The Sally Special is a modern, full-size version of the character Sally Carrera from the Cars movie franchise. It was sold for $3,600,000 at an auction during Monterey Car Week, and the proceeds were donated to Girls Inc. and USA for the UNHCR refugee agency.
