Cooked lamb color depends on its doneness level:
- Rare lamb is reddish and pink inside with some blood, cooked to about 49-60°C (120-140°F).
- Medium-rare lamb will have a warm pink color inside and be juicy, cooked to around 55-63°C (130-145°F).
- Medium lamb is pink but more cooked, at about 60-65°C (140-150°F).
- Medium-well lamb looks mostly cooked with a slight pink center, at 65-68°C (150-155°F).
- Well-done lamb is fully cooked with little to no pink, at 70°C (160°F) or higher.
In summary, cooked lamb ranges from deep reddish-pink to fully brown depending on how well done it is, with medium-rare showing warm pink inside and well- done looking fully brown throughout.
