Muhammad spoke about Jesus (peace be upon him) primarily as a revered prophet and Messenger of God, not as divine. In Islamic tradition, Jesus is honored as a significant early prophet who was born of the Virgin Mary, performed miracles by God's permission, and will return in the end times as a just ruler. The Prophet Muhammad is reported in several hadiths to have described Jesus with respect and to affirm his prophethood, his virgin birth, and the belief that he will descend to fulfill justice before the Day of Judgment. Muhammad also clarified a key theological point: Jesus is not God or the Son of God, but a created servant and Prophet; worship is due to God alone. These themes are echoed across Qur’anic references and hadith literature, where Jesus is repeatedly affirmed as a righteous messenger and as part of the broader line of prophets culminating in Muhammad.
