The copper golem in Minecraft is a mob that helps with item sorting and storage management. It takes items from copper chests and transfers them into nearby regular or trapped chests that contain matching items or places them in empty chests if no match is found. The copper golem can hold up to 16 items at once and searches for chests within a radius of 32 blocks horizontally and 8 blocks vertically. It only remembers up to 10 chests during its search and must be able to physically reach the chests, as it cannot use doors or ladders. Copper golems gradually oxidize over time, turning green in stages unless preserved with honeycomb. Fully oxidized copper golems become statues that no longer move but retain their pose and name if named with a name tag. They drop copper ingots when killed and can have their oxidation reset with an axe. Additionally, iron golems may sometimes place decorative flowers on copper golems nearby.
