Crystal Castles is a Canadian electronic music duo from Toronto, Canada, consisting of producer Ethan Kath and vocalist Alice Glass. Their musical style has been described as electropunk, electroclash, synth-pop, and witch house. Reviewer Jack Shankly described their music as "ferocious, asphyxiating sheets of warped two-dimensional Gameboy glitches and bruising drum bombast that pierces your skull with their sheer shrill force, burrowing deep into the brain like a fever". While some people describe them as witch house, an occult-inspired "dark electro" music genre that first came around in 2010, their music cannot be strictly classified into one genre.
