Gracie is one of the three girls whose life story inspired the film "Rabbit-Proof Fence". In the movie, Gracie is taken away from her family and transported to the Moore River Native Settlement to be educated away from her culture. According to Molly, Gracie died and never returned to Jigalong. In the book "Follow the Rabbit-Proof Fence" by Doris Pilkington Garimara, it is mentioned that after finishing her education at Moore River, Gracie left the settlement and began working as a domestic helper on several different farms.
