Tonight, during Game 5 of the WNBA semifinals against the Las Vegas Aces, Indiana Fever star guard Kelsey Mitchell suffered a serious leg injury in the third quarter. She initially appeared to have cramping in her left leg after hitting a three-pointer but continued playing briefly before collapsing on the court. Medical staff attended to her for several minutes, and although a stretcher was brought out, she declined to use it and was helped off the court by trainers. She was unable to put weight on her left leg. At the time of her injury, Mitchell had scored 15 points and was perfect from three-point range. After the game, it was confirmed she was taken to a hospital for fluids due to severe leg cramping. The Indiana Fever announced she would not return for the remainder of the game, and details of the injury severity are still being evaluated. The Fever's season ended with this game as the Las Vegas Aces advanced to the WNBA Finals.
