CrowdStrike Windows Sensor is a lightweight sensor that is installed on Windows, Mac, or Linux operating systems for desktop or server platforms. It is a part of the CrowdStrike Falcon platform, which is a cloud-native endpoint protection platform that collects and analyzes more than 30 billion endpoint events per day from millions of sensors deployed across 176 countries. The Falcon sensor is designed to maximize visibility into real-time and historical endpoint security events by gathering event data. It is extremely lightweight, consuming 1% or less of CPU, and unobtrusive, with no UI, no pop-ups, no reboots, and all updates are performed silently and automatically. The sensor actively scans for threats on the machine without having to manually run virus scans, and updates for CrowdStrike should also come through automatically, so there is no need to update manually. The Falcon sensor is completely invisible to the end-user and is less than 5MB in size.
