Fleece fabric is a synthetic insulating fabric made from polyester fibers. It is a lightweight, warm, and soft fabric that is often used in jackets, hats, sweaters, sweatpants, gym clothes, hoodies, pajamas, blankets, and high-performance outdoor clothing. Fleece can stretch more easily in one direction than in others and is categorized by weight in grams per square meter (gsm) . Polar fleece garments traditionally come in different thicknesses: micro, 100, 200, and 300, with 300 being the thickest. Fleece is breathable, fast-drying, and wicks perspiration and moisture away from the body, making it a common option for sportswear and winter clothes. Although fleece fabric is named after a sheeps fleece coat, it is not entirely natural. The majority of fleece fabric available today is made of polyester fibers, but it can also be made of cotton, hemp, and rayon fibers. Fleece is comfortable, lightweight, and perfect for making warm clothes.
