Life skills education is a form of education that focuses on cultivating personal life skills such as self-reflection, critical thinking, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. It is a type of education in which skills are developed to make the child efficient in such a way that they can make decisions in odd situations by their ability and intelligence. Life skills education has gained importance in recent years at school and has the potential to teach students how to act responsibly regarding their health and well-being, build a comprehensive understanding of the biological, psychological, and social factors influencing their individual development, and improve self-regulation, make informed decisions, and build supportive social relationships. Life skills education is recognized as a methodology to address a variety of issues of child and youth development and thematic responses including as expressed in UNGASS on HIV/AIDS, UNGASS on Children, World Youth Report, World Program for Human Rights Education, and more. Life skills education is essentially those abilities that help promote mental well-being and competence in young people as they face the realities of life.
