Premium Tatkal is a new quota introduced by the Indian Railways that reserves a few seats with dynamic fare pricing to book train tickets. The Premium Tatkal booking process is similar to the Tatkal ticket booking scheme, but the Premium Tatkal ticket charges are dynamic and vary according to the demand. The minimum fare of a Premium Tatkal train ticket is twice higher than any Tatkal ticket. Premium Tatkal tickets can be purchased only through the IRCTC website, whereas Tatkal tickets can be procured through online sources like Paytm and also at the railway ticket counters. The Premium Tatkal booking can be reserved in advance of one day before the journey date, and users can book only E-tickets. The Premium Tatkal booking timings are the same as the Tatkal scheme, and it is opened by 10:00 AM for AC classes and 11:00 AM for non-AC classes.
