The Haunting is an event in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone that takes place around Halloween. It is part of Season 6 of Modern Warfare 2 and includes new content such as maps, modes, and weapons with a Halloween theme. The event starts on October 17, 2023, and will likely function as season sixs midseason “reloaded” update in the shortened season that will lead directly into the launch of Modern Warfare 3. Some of the new content includes:
- Soul Capture event: A new event in which players can capture souls to earn rewards.
- New maps: Two existing maps, El Asilo and Embassy, will be getting a spooky makeover. El Asilo’s theme will feature a Día de Muertos aesthetic, while Embassy’s look is inspired by the after-effects of a zombie attack.
- New modes: Special versions of existing modes will be coming in The Haunting, including spooky spins on Domination, Kill Confirmed, Drop Zone, and Infected.
The Haunting event also features crossovers with other pop culture references such as Evil Dead, Diablo 4, and more.
