The only planet in our solar system that rotates clockwise on its axis is Venus. This type of rotation is called retrograde rotation. Unlike most planets that rotate counterclockwise, Venus spins in the opposite direction, meaning the Sun would appear to rise in the west and set in the east from Venus's surface. This unusual rotation is hypothesized to be caused by a significant collision with another planetary body early in its history, which reversed its original rotation direction and slowed it down. Additionally, Uranus also rotates in a retrograde manner due to its extreme axial tilt, but its rotation is more of a sideways spin rather than a straightforward clockwise rotation like Venus. Thus, Venus is the primary planet recognized for its clockwise rotation.
