WWE stands for World Wrestling Entertainment, which is an American professional wrestling promotion. It is owned and operated by TKO Group Holdings, a majority-owned subsidiary of Endeavor Group Holdings, and is a global integrated media and entertainment company that has branched out into fields outside of wrestling, including film, football, and various other business ventures. WWE consists of a portfolio of businesses that create and deliver original content 52 weeks a year to a global audience. The company is committed to family-friendly entertainment on its television programming, premium live events, digital media, and publishing platforms. WWE shows are not legitimate contests but entertainment-based performance theater, featuring storyline-driven, scripted, and partially choreographed matches. WWEs origins can be traced back as far as the 1950s when the first show under the Capitol Wrestling Corporation (CWC) was produced.
