Aragorn is a man of Dúnadan descent with Edain roots as well as Elf and Ainu roots. He is a direct descendant of the Faithful Numenoreans from the line of Elendil. The Dúnedain were a race of Men, also known as the Númenóreans or Men of Westernesse, who were blessed with long life. Aragorn was a Ranger of the North, first introduced with the name Strider and later revealed to be the heir of Isildur, an ancient King of Arnor and Gondor. In The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, Éowyn asks Aragorn his age and is shocked to learn that he is actually 87 despite looking no older than 40. But it is revealed that Aragorn is one of the Dúnedain—a descendant of Númenor—blessed with long life. Aragorn ends up living a good life, and not just as a king. With Arwen, he has one son and at least two daughters. Aragorns story comes to an end when he dies of old age. Aragorns historic reign as the High King lasts for 122 years, which ends with his death at the age of 210.
