what side should you sleep on while pregnant

Experts generally recommend sleeping on your side during pregnancy, especially as time goes on. Sleeping on your left side is often referred to as the “ideal” scenario during pregnancy because it improves circulation, giving nutrient-packed blood an easier route from your heart to the placenta to nourish your baby. Lying on the left side also keeps your expanding body weight from pushing down too hard on your liver. However, sleeping on your right side is also considered safe for short intervals. Sleeping on your back or stomach after a certain point in your pregnancy is not recommended. If you find it difficult to sleep on your side, you can try using pillows to prop your upper body at a 45-degree angle or elevating the head of your bed a couple of inches with books or blocks.
