When traveling, it is important to pack the right items to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable trip. Here are some items to consider packing:

  • Passport: This is the single most important thing to pack for your travels. You wont get very far without it.

  • Clothing: Take a mix of light layers and warm layers for your trip. Packing light is an art form, and with limited space in your backpack or luggage, its good to be strict with yourself and only bring what you need.

  • Toiletries: Bring essential hygiene items and prescriptions, such as contact lenses, birth control, prescription glasses, and any other medications. To minimize the toiletries you pack, bring a hairbrush and some dry shampoo (or hair gel) to save up space for other items like deodorant and toothpaste.

  • Travel gear: Depending on the type of trip youre going on, you may need to invest in some special travel gear. For example, if youre headed out on an organized group tour, youll most likely get a packing list from the tour provider, which should make your trip planning easier. If youre going on a beach vacation, youll need items like water shoes, towels, sunscreen, and maybe even snorkel gear. If youre going on a cruise, make sure you pack non-standard items like seasickness remedies, formal wear, dress shoes, and your bathing suit.

  • Travel first-aid kit: We recommend traveling with some type of a travel first-aid kit, which includes items like tweezers, first-aid ointment, bandages, travel-sized hand sanitizer, sunscreen, and insect repellent.

  • Important documents: Travel with a copy of your passport, credit card, and bank contacts, as well as a list of medications and your emergency contacts.

  • Other items: Depending on your destination and activities, you may also want to pack items like a reusable water bottle, portable power banks, a quick-dry towel, plastic bags, a travel journal and pen, books and magazines, a deck of cards and travel games, and painkillers and medicine.

Remember to pack light if you can, and familiarize yourself with any remaining COVID-19 travel restrictions at your destination.
