The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) for the 2026-27 academic year opened early on September 24, 2025. Normally, FAFSA opens on October 1 each year, but this year it was available about one week ahead of that schedule. Students can now complete the form to apply for financial aid for college attendance between July 1, 2026, and June 30, 2027.
