The next UK general election is scheduled to be held no later than Wednesday, 15 August 2029. The current parliament must be dissolved by that date at the latest, but the Prime Minister has the power to call an election earlier. The most recent general election was held on 4 July 2024, and the next one cannot be later than August 2029 under the Dissolution and Calling of Parliament Act 2022.
