when was paracetamol invented

Paracetamol was first synthesized by Harmon Northrop Morse around 1877 or 1878 at Johns Hopkins University. However, it was not widely used medically until much later, with the first human trial conducted by Joseph von Mering in 1887. Paracetamol only became commercially available and commonly used as a medication in the mid-20th century, around the 1950s.
