The iPhone was invented and first introduced by Apple co-founder Steve Jobs on January 9, 2007, at the Macworld convention. The device was subsequently released in stores in the United States on June 29, 2007. This original iPhone marked the beginning of a new era in smartphones with its innovative multi- touch display and integration of a mobile phone, iPod, and internet communicator in one device.
