when were the salem witch trials

The Salem witch trials took place primarily between February 1692 and May 1693. The first accusations and arrests began in early 1692, and the special Court of Oyer and Terminer conducted hearings starting in June 1692. The hangings of convicted witches happened from June through October 1692, after which the court was disbanded and a new court stopped the trials in 1693.
