where are the cook islands located

The Cook Islands are located in the South Pacific Ocean, in the region of Oceania, roughly halfway between Hawaii and New Zealand. They lie about 3,000 km (around 1,860 miles) northeast of New Zealand and are situated between American Samoa and French Polynesia.
