The Hamptons are a well-known region located on the far southeastern end of Long Island in Suffolk County, New York State. They consist mainly of the towns of Southampton and East Hampton, which form the South Fork of Long Island. The Hamptons stretch roughly from Westhampton in the west to Montauk at the far tip of the South Fork in the east, covering about 80 miles east of Manhattan (New York City). This area is famous as a luxury seaside resort and a summer getaway for wealthy New Yorkers and celebrities.
