Jimi Hendrix died in London on September 18, 1970. He was found unresponsive in an apartment at the Samarkand Hotel, located at 22 Lansdowne Crescent, Notting Hill, London, UK. He was taken to St Mary Abbots Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 12:45 p.m. at the age of 27. The cause of death was asphyxia due to aspirating his own vomit while intoxicated with barbiturates, following an overdose of sleeping pills and alcohol.
