Rob Reiner spent his childhood on the East Coast and then moved to California as a teenager. In later life he was closely associated with the Los Angeles area.
Early life
Rob Reiner was born in the Bronx, New York, where his family lived until he was about 13 years old. As a child he also lived in New Rochelle, New York, an address later echoed in his father Carl Reiner’s television work.
Move to California
Around age 13, Reiner’s family relocated from New York to Los Angeles because of his father’s Hollywood career. He attended Beverly Hills High School after this move, further rooting his adolescence in the Los Angeles area.
Adult residences
As an adult, Reiner’s main home for many years was in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles, an affluent Westside area. Public records and news reports also link him to other high-end Los Angeles–area properties, including a former home in Beverly Hills.
Additional property
In the 1990s he purchased a beachfront “getaway” house in Malibu, California, while keeping his principal residence in Brentwood. This Malibu property was described as a smaller second home compared with his large Brentwood main house.
