Kosovo is a landlocked country situated in Southeast Europe, in the central part of the Balkan Peninsula. It is bordered by Albania to the southwest, Montenegro to the west, Serbia to the north and east, and North Macedonia to the southeast. Kosovo covers an area of approximately 10,887 square kilometers (4,203 square miles) and has diverse terrain including plains, hills, and mountains. The capital and largest city is Pristina. Kosovo does not have access to the sea, but it is strategically positioned in the Balkans, surrounded by four neighboring countries.
