The Global Sumud Flotilla is currently sailing in the Mediterranean Sea, approximately 150 nautical miles off the coast of Gaza, entering what is considered a "high risk" interception zone by Israel. The flotilla, consisting of around 40 to 44 boats and over 500 participants, has faced challenges such as engine failures and a leaking boat but continues its journey with naval escort from Italy and Spain. It is expected to reach Gaza within the next few days, around September 30 or October 1, weather and conditions permitting. Turkish naval forces have provided temporary assistance but will not accompany the flotilla further. The flotilla is sailing eastward from Greece and is roughly 300 nautical miles away from Gaza as of a recent update, moving closer each day toward breaking the Israeli blockade to deliver humanitarian aid.
