The United Nations (UN) headquarters is located in the Turtle Bay neighborhood of Midtown Manhattan, New York City. It occupies a site along the East River bounded by First Avenue to the west, 42nd Street to the south, and 48th Street to the north. The complex includes several buildings such as the Secretariat, Conference, and General Assembly buildings. Although physically located in the United States, the land and buildings are administered by the UN and considered international territory through a treaty agreement with the U.S. government.
