The headquarters of the United Nations is located in the Turtle Bay neighborhood of Midtown Manhattan, New York City. It sits on 17 to 18 acres of land bordered by First Avenue, 42nd Street, 48th Street, and the East River. The complex includes several key buildings such as the Secretariat, Conference, and General Assembly buildings, as well as the Dag Hammarskjöld Library. Although physically situated in the United States, the land is under the sole administration of the United Nations and is treated as an international zone.
