Venezuela is a country located on the northern coast of South America. It has a continental landmass and many islands in the Caribbean Sea. The country is bordered by the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean to the north, Colombia to the west, Brazil to the south, and Guyana to the east. Its northern coastline stretches about 2,800 km (1,700 mi). The capital and largest city is Caracas. Venezuela has varied geography, including the Andes Mountains in the northwest, the Guiana Highlands in the southeast, and the vast plains known as the llanos in the central part of the country. It also includes notable features such as Angel Falls, the world's highest waterfall.
