where was osama bin laden found

Osama bin Laden was found and killed in a compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, during a U.S. military operation called Operation Neptune Spear on May 2, 2011. The compound was a large, custom-built house located about 4 kilometers northeast of Abbottabad city center and about 160 kilometers from the Afghanistan border. Bin Laden had been living there with his family and was discovered through intelligence and surveillance by the CIA and U.S. special forces. The raid involved Navy SEAL Team Six and was conducted under the authorization of U.S. President Barack Obama.
