The colour that follows the green signal at a puffin crossing is steady amber. This amber light signals drivers to prepare to stop as the traffic signal will soon turn red. Puffin crossings use sensors to detect pedestrians and adjust the traffic lights accordingly, and unlike pelican crossings, they do not have a flashing amber phase following green.
