The OCA was founded in 1982 and took over the responsibility of organizing the Asian Games from the Asian Games Federation. It is the major events organizer of the Asian Games and other related Asian sports events, overseeing rules, host city selection, and ensuring the event aligns with the Olympic Movement principles. The OCA has 45 member National Olympic Committees across Asia and is recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
