The type of insect that has never been listed as an endangered species is the praying mantis. In North America, none of the praying mantis species are considered endangered, and it has always been legal to kill them there. Some individual praying mantis species may have protection status in other countries, but overall, praying mantises have not been officially listed as endangered species.
