who made tylenol

Tylenol was originally made by McNeil Laboratories, a family-owned pharmaceutical company. The brand was introduced in 1955 by McNeil, with their first product being Tylenol Elixir for Children. In 1959, Johnson & Johnson acquired McNeil Laboratories, and Tylenol was soon made available over the counter. Today, Tylenol is sold under the Kenvue brand, which is a company spun off from Johnson & Johnson in 2023.
