Little St. James (often called “Epstein Island”) is now owned by billionaire investor Stephen Deckoff, through his firm SD Investments.
Current owner
Multiple reports state that in May 2023, Stephen Deckoff purchased both Little Saint James and neighboring Great Saint James from the Jeffrey Epstein estate for around 60 million dollars via SD Investments. Deckoff is the founder of Black Diamond Capital Management and is described as a longtime resident of the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Planned use of the island
Deckoff has publicly indicated plans to redevelop Little St. James and Great St. James into a high-end, roughly 25-room luxury resort. Reports suggest he aims to open the resort around 2025, framing the project as a way to bring tourism and jobs to the U.S. Virgin Islands while moving the islands beyond their association with Jeffrey Epstein.
