ME Bank is owned by Bank of Queensland (BOQ). In 2021, ME Bank was sold to Bank of Queensland for approximately $1.3 billion. Since July 2021, ME Bank has been a subsidiary of Bank of Queensland, which also owns Virgin Money Australia and BOQ Specialist. This acquisition made Bank of Queensland the fifth biggest bank in Australia by size, with ME Bank continuing to operate under its brand but backed by BOQ's wider network and resources.
