Josh Allen threw up on the sideline because he says this kind of vomiting is a recurring thing for him during games, not a one‑off serious illness.
Sideline vomiting vs. Patriots
During the recent Bills–Patriots game, cameras caught Allen vomiting on the sideline in his coat between drives. He returned to the field right after and continued playing at a high level as the Bills won, and reports noted no ongoing signs of sickness affecting his performance.
What Allen said about it
After the game, Allen explained that this kind of episode “basically happens every game” and is not due to a major illness. He described it as a weird feeling he sometimes gets if he does not “get enough out” before or during the game, suggesting it is part physical reaction and part routine rather than food poisoning or a known medical condition.
His pregame “ritual”
Earlier in 2025, Allen publicly mentioned that throwing up is actually part of his standard gameday routine along with listening to music and hydrating. He framed it as something that started in his early career and has continued as a way his body responds to nerves and adrenaline before playing, not as a sign that he is regularly sick.
