“Address Unavailable” in Apple’s Find My app usually means the phone’s location was found on the map, but iOS can’t turn that point into a readable street address.
Common reasons
- The device is in an area without a mapped address, like a rural area, a large parking lot, or a big building complex, so only a pin (not an address) is available.
- Location services are limited or flaky (weak GPS, poor Wi‑Fi or cellular signal), so the system can estimate where the device is but cannot match it confidently to a street.
- The device is briefly offline or having network issues, so the last known coordinates show on the map, but the address lookup fails.
Things to check on your iPhone
- Make sure Location Services and “Share My Location” are turned on in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services, and that Find My is allowed to use your location.
- Ensure the phone has a stable internet connection (cellular or Wi‑Fi), then wait a minute and refresh Find My; sometimes the address appears once the map data loads fully.
- If it keeps happening everywhere (not just in one spot), restart the phone and confirm that Find My is enabled under Settings → [your name] → Find My.
If you tell what device you’re using (your own phone vs someone else’s, iPhone vs Mac, etc.) and whether the map still shows a blue dot/pin, more tailored steps can be suggested.
